#ScotiaAmex Massive Meet-Up
Last night I attended the Scotiabank Massive Meet-Up at Globe on St. Laurent! Bloggers from across Canada met up in different cities - Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax and Winnepeg - to celebrate the new ScotiaAmex Gold Card [ergo the hashtag of Wednesday night], connect all events coast to coast and meet lovely bloggers from our own cities.
We kicked off the evening with the signature cocktail "The Maple Leaf" and the most beautiful oysters. Clearly our foodie group, including the gents from 514eats and the darling Chloe of Petite Brunette en Talons Haute, held down the oyster bar.
Throughout the evening there was fun trivia about travel and we learned a bit about the new credit card. I must admit I went for the food and chance to meet other bloggers but I was genuinely impressed to learn that the ScotiaAmex Gold Card has a great annual rate, especially for a travel rewards card [and I would know, I just redeemed my Avion for our honeymoon!]!
The dinner guests were lovely, the courses multiple and unrelenting [with bites inspired by each of the cities], and conversation flowing. It was such a fantastic opportunity to meet so many lovely Montreal bloggers including Gen in the City, Day Jobs and the Nightlife and Forget the Box. I wish I had snapped more pictures but the night sped by way too quickly! I'm hoping to get my hands on some of the professionally taken photos from the night - I'll make sure to share when I do! Happy Friday!
**I was not paid for this post, my opinions are my own. I'm not sure if anyone has clued into this but I am a big nerd when it comes to earning rewards and banking. I have bonded with some of my best friends over a mutually love of RRSPs, TFSAs and multiple savings accounts. To say my inner-nerd was geeking out Wednesday night would be an understatement.

You are Invited!
Last weekend may have just ended but I can't help but start looking forward to next Saturday - I have been invited in the inaugural Style Trade Montreal and now I get to pass the invitation on to you!
I've always been so envious of other cities when they host large closet sales so I guess it's no surprise I can't wait! Not only will I get the chance to trade in some of my lightly-loved & never-worn pieces for some new-to-me gems BUT they will also have a stylist on hand to give advice, mini manicures throughout the day and a David's Tea bar.
The event runs 10am - 3pm, Saturday, May 11th at 5524 Saint-Patrick suite 325
Door A, with tickets currently on sale here. So, Montreal, am I going to see you there?!

Effortlessly Edgy

| Teaberry bomber [similar] | Jacob blouse [similar] | Gentle Fawn lace shorts [similar] | dolce vita booties c/o Little Burgundy | Longchamps bag |
For nearly a month I have been awaiting an Indian summer. Last weekend, with time dwindling and temperatures falling, I got impatient. I made my own Indian summer... sort of. I dressed in shorts and a sleeveless blouse, quickly adding a light spring bomber after testing the air from my balcony. There was a chill - an unwavering, definite chill. I learnt my lesson. Summer isn’t here anymore, fall is. And fall likes tights.
During the summer, Little Burgundy got in touch to let me
know that they were opening a store in Halifax Shopping Centre. There are few
things I like more than a new store opening in my city – especially when said
store has been on my radar for a while – but their offer to scope it out with a
mini shopping adventure trumped it! I am so IN LOVE with these dv booties I try
to include them in every outfit! Hopefully my shopping ban is lifted soon so I
can go back in and pick up my other favourites [1, 2, 3]… swoon

| Halifax store Grand Opening |
Since I had already moved by the time they had their big Grand Opening soiree, I got a couple snapshots from those lucky enough to attend! It looked like a ton of fun and I have to admit, I’m completely obsessed with their pop-up store.

Bachelorette-wear

When . Wednesday, August 15th
What . My bachelorette party - I was lucky, it was fancy dress!
Weather . Gorgeous day and evening, warm night
Today we took a BIG step forward with our life here in Montreal. Today, we got out our internet installed. It's been pretty rough these past couple of days. Between cafe hoping and relying on my 3G, I've felt pretty hobo-esq. Yep, it's been completely mid-century in our neck of the woods but at least we're done with roughing it. Just in time too, running netflix on my iPhone has been killing my data plan.
In the couple weeks leading up to the wedding, Jack and I were swamped - beyond belief. I couldn't even fit in an hour to shop for a bachelorette party dress. Honestly, I didn't think this was necessary until everyone started telling me about the new dresses they got for the big night and I got the bug. Luckily, on the day of my bachelorette, squeezed in the hour between Jack's haircut and my trial up-do, I got to shop. The minute I tried on this little ditty I knew I was done. It was flirty, fun, polka-dotted, on sale for $30 AND my hour was up - obviously it was fate.
Since it's unfair to only capture my pre-party glory, below are a couple snap shots of the evening :)

When . Friday, May 11th
Weather . Sunny, overcast and warm. Not too shabby
Okay... so I may have recycled this outfit the day Chelle and I got together again BUT since it has come to be a staple in my rotation I figured I might as well give credit to the night that started this little obsession.
Nothing screams spring to me louder than soft neutrals layered a-top one another. Honestly, the only way I could love this outfit more would be if I swapped out the grey blazer for a cream one and my black belt for a nude belt. Ooo can't you picture that now? Looks like I've
got a new mission...

Mercedes-Benz StartUp Semi Finals - Halifax
On Friday, I was invited to attend Halifax's Mercedes-Benz Start Up Semi Finals at O'Regan's Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz Start Up is an initiative that provides a national platform to discover, mentor and support emerging designers from across Canada. The Mercedes-Benz Start Up was developed by Mercedes-Benz Canada Inc. and IMG Fashion, and is produced in association with the Fashion Design Council of Canada. The winners of the four semi finals [held in Edmonton, Ottawa, Quebec City and Halifax] go on to show at Toronto Fashion Week!
Although I managed to remember my camera this time, I wasn't as dedicated to taking photos as I should have been - It was hard to break my obsessive 19 year old habit of snapping every possible photo, and now it's hard to revive it. But I managed to get a few and borrowed a couple from Mo.
PRE-SHOW
- Kayla, myself [obviously not camera ready - ORRR more camera ready than ever], Ruby and Kerrianne
- The lovely Tosan and Mo
- My very exciting VIP Media seating!
- The front row
- Kayla and I. Apart from the fact that I am in desperate need of a haircut [I blame you, wedding!], I'd say us girls clean up pretty nice.
