Wedding Brunch Wear

We’ve made it! This is my last wedding-wear outfit! I actually have two casual go-tos that I relied on the ENTIRE month of August for my day-to-day but, by the end of it when I actually had time to snap the photos, both of them were a little worse for wear to be photographed. And now, now it’s too chilly to wear either. However, if an Indian summer hits I will throw them on – all clean and fresh – and snap away!

robbi & nikki dress | clutch c/o the birdcage | marc fisher gladiators [similar]

When . Sunday, August 19th [and multiple times since..]
What . post-wedding Brunch
Weather . cloudy, sunny, raining, pouring, cloudy, sunny

This dress. Oh this dress. I first saw this dress during the first 10 minutes of that hour I had to shop for my perfect bacherlorette frock. I stopped into Foreign Affair on my way to the mall because of the GIANT 70% off signs – honestly, I should have known I was done for. I found the dress in my first 5 minutes in there and instantly fell in love. I should have put it down immediately since this was obviously not the dress for my bacherlorette party but I couldn’t. Instead, I tried it on and put it on hold. I decided that I could only get it if my party dress and it totalled the initial budget I had had for the party dress – kind of a funny guideline considering I really had NO money to spend on a party dress but I digress. The rest is history – I have both dresses, no regrets and a slightly bloated visa who is currently beginning a diet.

The day after the wedding my family hosted a little brunch for our families. We had amazing breads, meats and pastries, opened gifts and basically, had the opportunity to all get together one last time before ending the “wedding weekend”. It was nice, calm and made me want to do the whole thing over again! …seriously, can i?

Bridal Brunch Wear

Pink Martini dress | Matt&Nat clutch | le Chateau wedges
When . Sunday, August 12
What . My bridal shower! A lovely Sunday brunch-esq afternoon complete with games, finger foods [my favourite] and cake pops. Oh, and wonderful women who made me feel insanely loved.
Weather . Sunny, hot and sticky - perfect for curls... well, perfect for the beach but curls are a close second.

Hello all!!
Boy does it feel good to be back! I have missed everyone so much over these last few months of planning, and especially over the last couple weeks. I hope you all enjoyed the wonderful gals who guest posted for me and maybe even found a new daily read. Although I wasn't blogging during my wedding planning, post clean-up and pre-move packing - I did slip in a couple OOTD shots. Honestly though, how could I let the opportunity slip away with event after event giving me reason to dress up [something I've struggled with working from home these last couple months].

I got this dress back at the beginning of spring and it has been literally sitting in my closet waiting for my bridal shower! I know, right!? I don't know how I did it either. It did feel awesome to dress up in something I've never worn before that was perfect for the day so I suppose I'm not too sad about days missed.

Guest Post: Putting Me Together

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how I first stumbled onto Audrey's blog. What I can tell you is, from the minute I got there I knew there was no turning back. I love how Audrey embraces colour [something that has taken me a while to do] and her infectious grin. I dare you to stop by her blog and not get hooked!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello!  I'm Audrey from Putting Me Together, and I'm glad to be here while Sorren is having fun at her gorgeous wedding!  Cheers to Sorren and Jack!  Haven't all of her wedding planning pics looked incredible?

Thanks for letting me invade Sorren's blog while she's off prancing around with the love of her life, and probably looking phenomenal doing so.  I was trying to channel Sorren's classic style by wearing what is becoming one of my favorite combos, shorts and a blazer.  I LOVE blazers because they can dress up anything--jeans, skirts, dresses, and even shorts.  And when they're in a bright color, even better!  This red blazer totally kicked up my otherwise neutral outfit, effortlessly.  Would you wear a brightly colored blazer?

Guest Post: Doll Parade

I had the pleasure of meeting Kristin at the East Coast Fashion Bloggers event back in April and I had an instant blogger crush. This girl is laid back, stylish and oh-so cool. If we lived in the same province, I would make it my personal mission to become her full-time friend.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Classic Noise readers! My name is Kristin and I write a small style blog out of the East coast of Canada coined "Doll Parade". I am posting on behalf of Sorren who is currently enjoying some much deserved post-wedding bliss. First and foremost, a huge congratulations is in order for Mrs. S, who, can I just say, looked absolutely drop-dead gorgeous on her wedding day - so if you haven't seen a photo just yet, you wait!

Sorren suggested I put together an outfit for this guest post, and I of course happily obliged, since, truth be told, I pretty much solely live for my next favorite dress or shoe (yes, they change often). Since we're being honest today on Classic Noise, I will admit that part of me is starting to mentally abandon my Summer wear. I'm sort of not ready for the Summer to be over, though another part of me is just so excited for pants & cozy sweaters. This said, I decided to put together something quintessentially Summer so that I can say kind of, sorta, say... goodbye. So here's to Summer. Here's to bike rides and berry picking, to wildflowers & picnics, to cliff jumping & warm evening walks. And of course, here's to Sorren (and Jack!), because after this month's festivity, your Summers will forever be sweeter. Thank you for reading, and come visit me at Doll Parade if you fancy.

Guest Post: Shen Dove

Shen popped onto my radar almost as soon as I started blogging. With her effortless style, ability to make colours look calm and professional, and AMAZING ever-changing hair, I knew that this wouldn't be an occasional kind of thing.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi All! I'm happy to do a guest post for Sorren while she is off getting married.  How exciting! Congrats to you and Jack during this memorable time.

I don't typically have trouble deciding what to wear for occasions, especially if a colorful skirt is involved.  But dressing a room is a little more challenging for me.  I find the task of deciding on artwork to match room decor particularly hard, there are so many options out there!  So this time around when hunting for artwork inspiration,  I decided to take a literal approach and start looking for art pieces similar to my outfits.  I looked around one of my favorite places to find artwork and homemade goods, Etsy.  I found a lovely abstract piece by this artist that reminded me of a vintage skirt and tank top I recently wore.

The art piece is cheerful which totally matches the mood I was going for with my outfit. I always feel happier when I'm wearing color, so it only makes sense that the walls of my home should be colorful too.

I will definitely try choosing artwork inspired by my outfits in the future.  After all, your home and clothing should reflect your personal style and personality right?

Guest Post: Dash Dot Dotty

I first stumbled onto Dotty's blog at the very beginning of my own blogging journey and I was instantly smitten. I mean, this girl has style - and it's not just the oh-so-perfect young professional attire. Her style is even evident in her clean and well thought-out blog layout. Alright, I'm gushing - but seriously, get acquainted!

Guest Post: House of Winchester

Libby may be a newbie in the blogging scene but she certainly knows what she's doing when she throws together an outfit. Mixing Joe Fresh and ALDO with higher end items like Equipment she's got the style thing down and we're all just along for the ride.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey! Libby here!

I am so honored that Sorren has asked me to do a guest post today! I thought I would take this opportunity to pay homage to the classics.... classic noise and classic fashion. I have styled a look that is simple and something I think  Sorren would put together.  Really, we all need someone like Sorren in our life to remind us that the classics are really probably the best option to go with when in doubt and to keep us from our penchant for hello kitty and glitter nails. Although if you will notice I couldn't help but insert some crazy shades and bold lips! ;)Have a great summer all and please stop by House of Winchester and say hello!

Guest Post: Miss Melissa

Miss Melissa and I share many things in common. A love for fashion and style, a compulsion to place a "u" after an "o", and an almost crack-like addiction to sweets, mainly chocolate. Seriously, this girl is the bees knees and if you weren't already in the know - get yo' self acquainted!

{Wearing: American Apparel Blouse, Club Monaco Skirt, Zara Pumps, Fossil Watch}

Hello! I’m so excited to be a guest blogger on Sorren’s blog while she’s off getting married. For those of you I haven’t had the pleasure to meet yet, my name is Melissa and I write the blog Miss Melissa. Sorren and I bonded over the fact that we are both Canadian and she laughs at my jokes. Add to that the fact that she’s insanely sweet and adorable and it was a blogging buddy match made in blogger heaven. We now have a lovely friendship based on mutual respect and stalking.

I had every intention of passing along some words of marriage wisdom to Jack and Sorren, but then I realized I have no place giving anyone advice on dating let alone marriage. Instead, I would like to share what some young children had to say about marriage because, well, it’s just adorable.

"The rule goes like this: If you kiss anybody, you have to marry them. It's the right thing to do."
"A man and a woman-only after they are answering the guys questions- promise to go through sickness and illness and diseases together."
"Marriage is when you get to keep the girl and don't have to give her back to her parents."
"If falling in love is anything like learning how to spell, It takes too long."
"My mom and dad got married when they were old, I think they were in their twenties."
"Tell your wife that she looks pretty even if she looks like a truck."

Congratulations Jack and Sorren, I am so happy for both of you and wish you all the love in the world.  Also, if you have any leftover wedding cake… send it my way.

When .  Saturday, July 28th
What . A day bumming around downtown
Weather . Sunny and gorgeous

I did not manage to get one snap shot of my outfits last week. I tried and tried but life took over and I was left spinning! It seems that the wedding planning is finally starting to really heat up and things are about get to get crazy over here. I'm going to attempt another outfit for Thursday but if I don't make it, and things get spotty, please forgive me. Definitely stay tuned though, in anticipation of the impeding insanity I lined up a couple of fun surprises...

Until then, how much do you love this skirt?! Honestly, I am completely smitten. Every time I put it on, I feel awesome - put together, pretty and ready for anything! Pair it with my amazing Day2 curls, and I'm over the moon. Seriously. If over the next couple weeks, your TV dies, or your plans fall through and you're sitting there missing me way too much, wondering what I might be wearing, come back to this post. Nine times outta ten, I will have given these pieces a perfume bath and will be trying to cover up the mustard stain on my shirt so I can wear it one. more. day.

Wedding Wear

When . Friday, July 27th
What . A friend's wedding reception
Weather . Ugh. Rain, mist, fog, humidity, breeze

Last Friday a couple friends of ours decided to get hitched and we decided to go watch. Even though my hair was taken care of [because of an AWESOME contest I won through Thumpers Salon] I had NO clue what to wear. The rain was on and off, the humidity high and my closet hasn't been updated since Spring. Luckily, my wonderful twitter & blog friend, Kristin came to the rescue and we decided on the dress above. I absolutely loved the entire outfit. If I could change something I would only only change my pumps to wedges [these nude wedges OR! these blush ones] but I don't have any and am on a shopping-ban until post-wedding so my pumps did just fine!

I must thank Nathan MacNeil at Thumpers Salon for my amazing tresses. He did such a fantastic job making my hair work with the insane weather and I absolutely LOVED the thick beachy waves!

When . Saturday, May 19th
What . Coffee date, packing enjoying the sun
Weather . Sunny, warm, summer... basically, unheard-of weather for mid-May in Halifax

Not only did we have some gorgeous weather in Halifax this past weekend BUT it just so happens, Monday was a holiday! Jack and I tried to take FULL advantage a soak up as much sun as possible while still planning our wedding, packing up our apartment and spending some time with friends.

Just so happens some of these friends are also our soon-to-be wedding photographers, Chelle & Adam! And lucky lucky me, Chelle offered to shoot a couple outfit photos! We were both obsessed with the pretty pink trees and since they were right around the corner from the coffee shop we met at, the location was a no brainer. I had a ton of fun shooting with Chelle and Adam and there were so many great photos I could barely choose [i.e. the reason there are double the usual number of photos up today]. Jack and I have our engagement shoot booked for June 2nd and we seriously cannot wait!
