Wedding Wednesday :: The Portraits

After the ceremony, our lovely photographers whisked us away to a few different locations to grab some snaps of the two of us. It was so nice to get away and spend some time together and we had a lot of fun shooting - even if we did need to loosen up. What's below is a small portion of what we got. If you are planning a wedding and trying to decide whether to do the portraits - do them. They are a few of my favourite shots from the day.

THE PRODUCE STAND

Just as we finished up at the vegetable cart and got back in the car, the sky opened up and the rain started to fall. It rained harder in those 30 minutes than it had all summer. Luckily, we were safe in a car while our poor guests at the reception jumped into action and moved everything indoors according to our rain plan.

We arrived, killed sometime doing a couple shots on the front porch and then glamourously waited inside until the rain died down. Although I would have loved to have the reception outdoors, I couldn't be happier that we got perfectly timed, good luck rain. Any earlier, our ceremony and photos would have been ruined, any later and dinner would have been soggy. Gotta love it when mother nature is considerate.

Wedding Wednesday :: Engagement Photos

As part of the amazing package provided by our wonderful photographers, Jack and I got to do an engagement photo shoot. Not only was it fun to get some photos of us as a couple but this allowed our photographers to get to know us, our angles and how we react with a camera in our face. We had SO MUCH FUN shooting with Chelle, Cherakee and Adam and just know our wedding photos will be amazing!

We will eventually put a big bunch up on our wedding website but for now, enjoy the hand full [or perhaps, fist full... okay, I got excited - bucket full] I shared below.

On repeat

Stirling grey blazer [similar] | French connection blouse [similar] | H&M Conscious collection shorts [similar]
Club Monaco belt [similar] | nude pumps [similar] | bracelets by: H&M and derng | Stella & Dot necklace

When . Friday, May 11th
Weather . Sunny, overcast and warm. Not too shabby

Okay... so I may have recycled this outfit the day Chelle and I got together again BUT since it has come to be a staple in my rotation I figured I might as well give credit to the night that started this little obsession.

Nothing screams spring to me louder than soft neutrals layered a-top one another. Honestly, the only way I could love this outfit more would be if I swapped out the grey blazer for a cream one and my black belt for a nude belt. Ooo can't you picture that now? Looks like I've
got a new mission...

pretty fleurs, pretty day, pretty perfect

When . Saturday, May 19th
What . Coffee date, packing enjoying the sun
Weather . Sunny, warm, summer... basically, unheard-of weather for mid-May in Halifax

Not only did we have some gorgeous weather in Halifax this past weekend BUT it just so happens, Monday was a holiday! Jack and I tried to take FULL advantage a soak up as much sun as possible while still planning our wedding, packing up our apartment and spending some time with friends.

Just so happens some of these friends are also our soon-to-be wedding photographers, Chelle & Adam! And lucky lucky me, Chelle offered to shoot a couple outfit photos! We were both obsessed with the pretty pink trees and since they were right around the corner from the coffee shop we met at, the location was a no brainer. I had a ton of fun shooting with Chelle and Adam and there were so many great photos I could barely choose [i.e. the reason there are double the usual number of photos up today]. Jack and I have our engagement shoot booked for June 2nd and we seriously cannot wait!
