Settling In

Hitting the road - dragging the car :S | last Two If By Sea :( | healthy lunch | windmills! | driving | entertainment
our dear orchid getting sleepy | the lodge where we stayed
terrifying moose sign | moving in - too many boxes | unhooking the car | the dreaded stair curve

Something you learn when you’ve chosen to accept boxes into your life – living around them rather than unpacking – is, they can be dangerous. You trip often, get trapped in a corner behind a stack and get scratched – a weird, rug-burn-esq scratch that is sensitive for hours after. Needless to say, I’m starting to rethink my initial acceptance and am beginning to devote all my spare time to unpacking.

Exploring - love for the Bay | testing the coffee shops & pastries | nachos from lola rosa, burger & poutine from la paryse,
crepe & the nutcracker from juliette & chocolate | Hitting up Montreal's Joe Fresh

Before this change of heart, Jack and I had been spending our spare minutes exploring, resting and eating. I haven’t been taking OOTD photos though because a) I need to figure out this whole photos-in-densley-populated-areas thing and, b) I’ve been relying on old favourites [Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Saturday, Sunday]. Luckily I have two more pre-wedding outfits that I’ve really been wanting to share AND I’ve been instagramming like it’s nobody’s business… although since I posted all of them, I suppose it’s everybody’s business. If you follow me on instagram you may have already seen these, but here is the move and our first week in Montreal in snapshots.

Exploring - First trip to ikea | another delicious meal at Lola Rosa | freeways | dream house | tunnels | Westmount Green House
treasures at papeterie nota bene | the most amazing cookies | tiny hunters

We’ve only been here a week and I feel right at home. It’s a funny thing to move 3,000 miles to a brand new city and to feel as though nothing major has really changed in your life. Although, I suppose, it’s pretty easy to settle in when the person who you think of as home is right by your side. We’ll see how I feel once winter hits though…

  7. SO glad to hear the move went smoothly! I love that you had the orchid riding in the front with you... I did the same with my cacti, except I may or may not have dropped one and destroyed its beautiful leaves. eff. hopefully your orchid is less sleepy and settling in ok (I hear they're temperamental plants).

  8. Love Lola Rosa - one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal! Also Juliette et Chocolate is decadent :)
