Wedding Wednesday :: shooooooooooooooooes

Ahhhh wedding shoes; one of the few aspects of a wedding that has the potential to be re-used  or worn again. Oh yes, these babies are one of the most easy to justify purchases, which is AWESOME considering I have been dying for an amazing pair of flats.

Yes, you heard right. I will be wearing flats on my wedding day. Obviously I would love to adorn an amazing pair of pumps but unless I want to go from regular girl to Godzilla in less than 5 inches I've gotta put the pipe dream behind me. Jack is at least 2 inches taller than me if we play fair and I'm am going to be taking advantage of every last millimetre of that come our wedding day.

I want to find a pair of flats that are not only perfect for the day but can be easily worn after my wedding. Something I could wear to the office or a business lunch or that would look oh-so-perfect with my boyfriend jeans on a Saturday. Classic and timeless with a hint of haute are my key words.

Okay so I know I've gotta narrow it down a little but it never hurts to begin with a wide net. So what do you all think?? My dress is straight to the ground so I don't think you'll see them, plus it's off-white so an off-white shoe is okay... is it?? Am I going too far with the "transition to after-wedding wear"?

  2. I'm no help - I think they all look great!
    Also, question - are Tory Burch flats really all they've chalked up to be? I see girls walking around my university wearing them all the time, but... why Tory Burch? Are they super comfortable/high quality? I'm just wondering where the hype is coming from, haha.

    1. I was actually wondering the same thing! I've seen them on so many people but I have I have no clue about their quality or comfort!

  3. You're not alone! I'm actually the same height as Matt, so I'll be wearing flats when we finally get around to marriage ourselves :P For what it's worth, I like #2 best! So cute, and the rewearability level is way high! Then again....#7 are gorgeous too. Wow.

  4. I like 3, 5, 7 and 9 but my first choice would be #5. Metallics are a great way to still have "fancy" shoes and wear flats, plus metallics go with everything so they'll be a versatile part of your wardrobe. I mean, who wears white shoes on a regular basis?

  5. I think any of them would be fine!  I wore flats on my wedding day, too.  Best decision, ever.  They're all great shoes, but 5 & 7 are my favorites to pair with a wedding dress!

  8. such a good idea! by the middle of my ceremony, my feet were killing me from already being in heels for 3+ hours (we did a first look and all the family/ bridal pics before the ceremony). love #7!

  9. I love the idea of wearing flats on your wedding day! I think when it comes to your wedding comfort should trump all :) I know we want to look amazing, but really how terrible would it be to be constantly aware of how bad your feet feel rather than being able to enjoy the moment? Plus you're super tall anyway girl! no one would know!

    As for the shoes, I would probably steer clear of the ones with the black toe because if your shoes are visible any point that would be the only thing people see and I feel like the black might be too harsh darting out from your gorgeous dress. I do love the black toes tho, they look super vintage!! I think 7 is unanimous across the board, so I think you have yourself a winner pretty girl :)

  10. I think 5, 6, and 9 are my favorites - I don't think you want to go too dark (esp. the black tips) since you WILL be able to see them when you walk - a little to attention grabbing, esp. with such a BEAUTIFUL dress.  And I wouldn't want to go too casual looking with the dress either.  5 is pretty great, since the metallic dresses it up, but it still sort of has a 'linen-y' looking pattern, which would go with your wedding's feel. (I'm 100% in favor of getting 'regular' shoes - dyed shoes that you can never wear again don't make any sense to me!)
