dance party photo shoot set to Kanye West - Power |
Happy Halloweeeen!
I hope all your weekends were perfect and that you were able to jump-start your Halloween festivities.
Saturday night, Jack and I dressed up, met up with some friends and headed to a party.
I must say, these folks knew how to throw a party Sorren-style.
Their house was decorated to the nines AND there was Halloween-themed food for days.
Quite honestly, I spent most of the time going from the cupcakes to the cookies to the cheese tray and back again.
Nothing wrong with that.
For anyone who is stumped or thinks I may be a bunny with a crown,
I dressed as Max from Where the Wild Things Are this year.
I have been putting this costume together since September, and it was worth it.
I bought the onesie for $20 from Value Village and then DIY'd the rest.
I loved this costume.
It was warm. It was comfy. It didn't require any makeup.
Jack dressed as frog - double entendre.
(As a french person, I approved this costume.)
He found the frog towel thing this past summer and the rest followed.
We made the moustache even greasier by adding mascara.
It worked perfectly.
Cracking up right now! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are the cutest. This Max costume is amazing. LOVE the big buttons you sewed on, fantastic touch.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are SO CUTE!! I am so jealous of the cozy factor of your costume.
ReplyDeleteLove your costume! Aren't comfy costumes the best?!?
ReplyDeleteMe he he, I love it!
ReplyDeleteHow did I not know you are French? French and a poutine lover, now you are my type of guuurl (and we thought this was only about clothes huh?).
Bonne semaine Sorren!

Looooove your costume! Also, had no idea you're French! When I (someday) get my backpacking-around-Europe trip planned and need to brush up on my Francais (it's been years, haha).
ReplyDeleteHa ha you look so cute in your costume! I love it! Happy Halloween ; )
ReplyDeleteLove your costume! A great idea. And LOVE your blog redesign! It's great :)
ReplyDeleteI looooveeeee thisssss. I would like this Max outfit for everyday use.
ReplyDeleteOne of my fave quotes ever is: "And Max wanted to be where someone loved him best of all." Like, I used to want it tattooed on my body hahaha.
Oh my gosh you are freaking adorable. I had two costumes this year. 1) a girl who fell asleep on the couch - I used that one on Saturday night. and 2) a lazy girl in sweats - this prize piece was worn while handing out candy. And I had my own dance party to the footloose soundtrack. Jealous? ;)
ReplyDeleteHAHA. SORREN! How cute are you!
ReplyDeleteFantastic costumes! I love the dance party photos, and there is definitely nothing wrong with going back to the food (again and again). It would be rude not to :-)
ReplyDeleteYou guys looks great!! AWesome job on the Max costume :)
ReplyDeletethanks so much! it was a lot of fun :)
ReplyDeletehahah I totally agree... food is there to be eaten, I was giving them some help so they weren't stuck with leftovers!
ReplyDeletehahah hilarious. And I am jealous you had a dance party to the footloose soundtrack! I definitely need to get that soundtrack so I can rock our kevin bacon style
ReplyDeletehahah you are adorable. you seriously NEED to do this costume next year :)
ReplyDeletethanks so much! there's already stuff I want to change... but I'll try and keep myself in check :P
ReplyDeletethanks!! the suit was a little weird fitting (cue awkward camel tow SEWN in) and wearing it background plus sewing on the buttons definitely helped.
ReplyDeleteoh my. cozy is seriously the way to go. in fact, 9year old sorren kind of took over and I piled layers on underneath. I must remember that I am not actually trick or treating and will only be outside for 10 minutes at a time.
ReplyDeletehahahah hoorayyyy!
ReplyDeletethey seriously are! I hope my costume next year is just as comfy.
ReplyDeleteOh I am! Although I have definitely lost my bilingualism since moving to Nova Scotia in grade 8. I still understand french, and have a really great accent but when I string my sentences together, I may have all the right words but the verbs and adjectives sometimes get jumbled.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Living in an english province has definitely stolen my bilingualism but once I'm immersed it tends to come out again.
ReplyDeletehaha thanks! Happy Halloween to you too!
ReplyDeletehahah thanks! it was definitely one of my top favs!
ReplyDeleteOh snap Sorren, do you have a French accent?
ReplyDeletehaha not so much. I have a pretty good one when speaking french but growing up my parents used it to speak about secrets in front of me rather than to have me speak it all the time, so I'm mostly english.
