A Look Inside: My Apartment

Holy insanity batman. Life has just been non-stop since the spring started and now Jack and I are packing up and moving to a new house for our final three months in Halifax! Not ideal but thems the breaks. In any case, I may be a little MIA, and if not MIA quite quiet, over the next week or so. I will try to post as much as possible but please bear with my absence if that ends up being the case.

As a send off and goodbye to our beautiful apartment of 2 years, please enjoy a little peek inside our humble abode :)

To your left, when you walk in: closets & washroom

To your right: kitchen and through the door, pantry & washer/dryer... which I conveniently "forgot" to photograph

the breakfast bar completes the kitchen and opens us into the main space

 more photos of the same

around the corner is my home office & Jack's drafting table

view from Jack's drafting table

leaving the main space our little dining area and view of our entry way.

the bedroom ...and my jewelry shelf aka the lazy person's jewelry display

feel as though something was missing? want to see my closet*??

*clothes are subject to change, the closet tour was posted almost a year ago

I love the mix of masculine and feminine. The exposed brick, fresh flowers, and cabinets are among my fave aspects. Gorgeous!

  6. Thanks so much for sharing these with us, Sorren!  Hopefully you'll fit as comfortably in your new place as you have here.  I was curious about your closet, and took that peekk back into time from a previous post.  I'm jealous of your ability to have everything put together with such organization, plus that HUGE bin of tights!  lol

  16. Oh I know! I think I'm going to try and cover my eyes for our next place since we'll be there for only 3 months, but after that design blogs will be my obsession too

  18. no problem! I don't focus on home design on my blog but it is so much fun to have a sneak peek into people's homes that I figured this was the perfect send off for my apartment.

  19. It definitely will be tough, but I'm sure we will find something AMAZING in Montreal... once we start looking anyways :S

  20. AHHH!!! So exciting! Do you get to bring a lot of things from your last place with you, or are you starting new??

  21. haha i know! If only the place wasn't a complete DISASTER from packing. Plus everyone would have to come to dartmouth and that's always tricky...

  22. Thank you! The open layout is amazing and horrible all at once. The horribleness comes from the fact that if an area is messy the entire place feels messy because you have a view of everywhere at all times!

  23. I know! The brick wall pretty much sold us... we're suckers

  24. haha timing and good luck! They turned an old school into condos but nobody was biting so they changed them into apartments. We took a tour before it was complete - just the skeleton, no walls - but the minute we passed into the "old" side we were sold. The brick wall pretty much won our hearts.

Your place is AWESOME! My husband would loooove to have brick walls like that; his favorite part of the West Elm catalog.  You've done such a great job styling it, too!

  31. Your red couch, dark-colored set of furniture, and red bricks complement your living room beautifully. And I love the idea that it has several windows installed. The design allows for better ventilation. Overall, your new place is fantastic! :)
