Everybody, Everywear: Nautical

Ellison blazer [similar] | FCUK tee [similar] | Kensie shorts [similar] | Urban Outfitters tights
Kenneth Cole wedges [similar] | sea urchin necklace c/o RunFree RunWild

I honestly cannot think of a better theme for May's EBEW than nautical inspired style! Year after year there's just something about the early spring that has me instantly drooling over stripes, deck shoes and all things seaside. Not exactly sure what prompts my annual obsession but I do know that without fail I do come out of May with up to 3 more striped pieces added to my wardrobe.

I'm not sure what the most nautical part of my outfit is. My tights and nails are sea foam, which is arguably nautical, although perhaps not in the traditional sense. The striped blazer is a good contender, as are the boat-shoe inspired wedges and the high-waisted sailor shorts [although a navy pair would have really brought it home]. However, I really think it's my sea urchin necklace from RunFree RunWild that brought the whole look together and took home and sailor prize. I mean what could possibly more nautical than a little friend from the sea worn ever so elegantly on a chain?

  3. Thanks, a local girl designs them - she's absolutely amazing! I'm glad all the pieces worked together because it began as a just a mishmash of anything semi-nautical!

  7. When I saw your title on Twitter, my first thought was that I'd let you borrow my 15 foot canoe... then I read your post, saw your outfit and realized you deserved to be on the deck of a much larger yacht.  Maybe you could book passage on that new Titannic when it get's built!

Wonderful outfit!  LOVE the design of your nylons and that gorgeous necklace!

  23. Thank you!! I must admit I was chicken to wear these shorts and tights even while I was wearing them - but working from home allows me short bursts of being outdoors which is MUCH less of a commitment than an entire day... which I don't know I could do.

  26. Thank you! I've owned the shorts for 3 years but just started feeling comfy in them last season. As for the loafers, they were comfy the minute I put them on. So comfy in fact that I forget that they look cute and sometimes think I've chosen comfort over style - not true!
