I think my favourite thing about winter this season has been the pairing of heavy, bulky sweaters with light, summery skirts and dresses. There's something about the contrast of it that I just cannot help but love. It's the same kind of love that I have for a masculine leather coat paired with a soft lace top, or a strong boyfriend blazer paired with a light champagne floral. The other obvious draw to this trend comes from the fact that my closet grows exponentially when I don't have to pack away my summer dresses AND that I get to keep extra warm with all the big sweaters.
Lucky for me I live in Canada and I've got a bunch more months of bulky sweaters and pretty dresses on my horizon.

Pretty look! The skirt is so nice. love the contrast.
ReplyDeleteOh you tricked me with your title because I seriously thought you would have some amazing lemonade recipe :) but I love the outfit regardless, and loving your hair too! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this look, I so wish I could pull of the sweater over a skirt but it always feels so bulky on me ... looks wonderful on you!

I really like this outfit! That sweater looks so warm and comfy. Your hair is getting so long! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI should try wearing one of my sweaters over a cute dress. Since I live in Minnesota, i have no shortage of sweaters.
ReplyDeleteI'm also loving the chunky with flowy, such a cute look :)

You look pretty. I actually wish I had a lot more comfy sweaters like yours, b/c I love that juxtaposition, too. Also the word "juxtaposition." It's a winner.
ReplyDeleteYay for cold months, that look is awesome! I think I just found a way to wear my polka dots skirt! Thanks to you :)
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast of the sweater & the frilly skirt too. It's fun and girly and cozy all at once. You look lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is lucky. I'm already having to break out the T-shirts and leave the tights in the drawer. I don't feel like I got enough sweater weather. Oh well, I'll hold out as long as possible. I love contrasting textures and styles :)
ReplyDeleteI love those extra polar opposites and how well they work together. And the fact that you never have to 'pack away' pieces of your wardrobe is always a plus.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this look as well - and you are rockin' it! Annnnd the color of your nails is awesome.

haha I laughed so hard when I read that! I'll have to track down an awesome lemonade recipe to make it up to you!!
ReplyDeleteOh, it totally feels bulky the entire time, I'm always readjusting but it's worth it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I'm glad you're going to give it a try - it's such a good way to power through the last bit of winter!
ReplyDeleteeeep! thanks! I'm growing it out for the wedding so I can style it anyway I want (I obviously haven't nailed down just one style yet)
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness. we seriously are the creepiest... i'm kind of in love with the word "juxtaposition" to the point where I monitor how much I use it so that nobody will learn my secret. Head to american apparel so you can juxtapostize with the best of us
ReplyDeleteohhh i'm already jealous and want a polka dot skirt!
ReplyDeleteooo man, I must say I am reeeeeeally jealous of your weather. I would give up my sweaters in a second if it would mean a new climate
ReplyDeleteLove the print of that skirt! And also the bright pop of turquoise in your nail colour - pretty!
