Flowy and fancy free

American Apparel Blouse | GAP Jeggings | Steve Madden boots (similar)

This blouse is a very uncharacteristic piece for me.
It's something I would never go for automatically, but after seeing my sister style it
I was completely hooked.
It had to be mine - it would be mine
...and I would figure out how to style it later.
Lucky for me, I had a TeamBuy coupon that I needed to use up
so I was able to take a chance.

I'm so happy I did. This piece is fantastic
-and I've only figured out how to style it one way, using two different bottoms
(these jeans and a pair of shiny American Apparel leggings for a nighttime feel.)
How would you go about styling this piece, or one like it?
Would you try toning down the contrast with a neutral layering underneath?
HELP ME! I WANT TO WEAR IT ALL of THE TIME!

  6. This is really lovely on you, the color is fabulous. I think it could look awesome with a vest. Or maybe some shorts + tights. And at some point you should probably wear it out with the tallest heels that you own.

  7. YAY! It's such a gorgeous blouse in such a pretty colour. I have one just like this in purple and I love to do the half-tuck in the front. I also roll up the sleeves, just because I roll up the sleeves on everything. Sometimes I put a cardigan over it too? Hahah there are some ideas for you!

  8. Yay!  Love this blouse!  I have been on a shear kick for quite some time.  There are a lot of ways to wear it that are completely acceptable and this one is no exception.  I love the skinnies and the boots!  It would look great under a dress as well!  Or unbuttoned with a cute top underneath.  The possibilities are endless!

  9. This shirt is such a gorgeous colour! I would probably suggest tucking it in to a skirt or belting it over a dress? I look forward to it's next appearance!

  10. I would wear it with a sequin skirt for going out, or with a furry vest or oversized sweater layered over top for everyday. I love the color!

  11. Let me continue my tried and true tradition of feeling the need to comment on every single one of your posts. ;)

I have this blouse in plaid and in sea foam green. I've worn it with skinnies, boyfriend jeans, buttoned, unbuttoned, as a beach cover-up, over shorts... I've had thoughts to style it with a midi/maxi skirt, tucked in or belted... the possibilities may be endless. ;) - And now I am going to wear it tomorrow. Tucked into skinny cords in the front! Thank you for the inspiration haha.

  14. PICK ME, PICK ME!  My hand is raised really high.  Okay my answer is, exactly like this, but in cooler temps wear a short fitted blazer and a scarf!  Did I win?  Was it a contest??

  15. Oh my goodness. This wasn't contest. You are SUCH an effin' keener though - and your stylin tip made me gasp slightly imagining how amazing that would be - that I turned it into a last minute contest in honour of your brilliance. So, congratulations, you won!

  18. Love this blouse and this outfit....so cute! I would probably style it the same way you did...I always go for the boots! But that's unoriginal....so how about tucked into a brightly colored pencil skirt with some opaque tights and wedges? Just found your blog...I'm a new follower :)

  25. I love this blouse and the colour is stunning on you. I would probably tend to style it the way you have too. I'm really loving sheer blouses this fall. You could also try tucking it into a mini skirt or a pair of khakis with a belt.
